Myths About Cannabidiol (CBD)

Myth #1:

CBD is good and THC is bad

This myth stems from the fact that CBD is not psychoactive. In many places in the United States, CBD is legal and THC is not. THC however, has been shown in preclinical studies to kill certain types of cancer cells. When combined in many cases CBD can reduce or lower the variability of the psychoactive effects of THC. There is no “good” or “bad” cannabinoid. THC and CBD both have actively studied potential medical indications.

CBD comes from the cannabis plant and is therefore illegal

Myth #3: CBD is only potentially helpful for anxiety or seizure disorders

CBD has plenty of news coverage for studies that have shown significant positive results for patients with anxiety conditions or seizure disorders such as epilepsy. CBD has been studied extensively across the medical community and has actually been shown to be helpful in adjust administration when treating many conditions. Studies are ongoing in chronic pain patients using opioids in helping to reduce the amount of opioids taken.

CBD has even been shown to aid in the treatment of schizophrenia, addressing cognitive difficulties with the condition.
