The Farm Bill is here and we have some really exciting news.
The Senate has just passed the Farm Bill in an 87-13 vote. This means, the bill will make industrial hemp, a form of cannabis with lower THC levels than marijuana, legal. It’s a blessing for the increasingly popular cannabidiol, or CBD oil, industry, which is being used for medicinal purposes. Analysts told CNBC that hemp could grow into a $20 Billion industry by 2022.
The industrial hemp plant will officially be removed from the Controlled Substances Act, and the Farm Bill will also provide much-needed clarity for all products made from hemp–including extracts. (All hemp products must contain 0.3% or less THC to be considered industrial hemp-derived.) The Bill would not only allow erasing the uncertainties but would also help people nationwide would have an access to hemp CBD extract and the full spectrum of its nutritive. After all, hemp seeds have been referred to as the most nutritionally complete food on Earth.
